What

power. The S65's twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 produces a stunning 604

an AMG-tweaked five-speed automatic that furnishes 35-percent quicker
gear changes and a "Speedshift" feature that allows manual-shift
capability without having to take your hands off the wheel. Mercedes
claims that this high-performance superluxury sedan will hit 60 mph in
about 4 seconds, a figure typically associated with exotic sports cars
bearing Italian names.
Virtually every luxury and convenience
item to be found in an automobile, including a DVD-based navigation
system and power door-closing assist, is standard on the S65. Still,
there are optional designo interior trim packages which provide more
dramatic leather and wood combinations, as well as dynamic multicontour
front seats, four-zone climate control and power-adjustable rear seats.
The
S65 has that enviable quality of feeling smaller and more nimble than
its substantial size suggests. Acceleration rivals that of many exotic
sports cars and even its handling could be described as nimble.
Although it's still not the kind of car you buy for the sole purpose of
weekend jaunts through the hills, it will make the occasional detour
home from the office a most pleasurable trip indeed.

first learned of the car through Bryan’s web advertising. Upon
inspection, I found the car to be exactly as Bryan had described it.
Virtually mint. We amicably and matter-of-factly agreed on a price. We
had none of the usual back-and-forth price drama that is sadly so
common in auto sales. Just a cordial two-minute discussion and a handshake. Done.
Bryan
then used his industry contacts to line up a mechanical inspection by
an independent dealer for the next morning. The dealer confirmed the
car’s excellent condition. Moreover, Bryan was very generous with his
own time, putting the car on the lift at his facility and carefully
inspecting it with me. I got the sense that Bryan would have happily
spent hours with me going over the car. Again, this inspection
confirmed the car’s fine condition.
